Road construction

Roads construction is one of the Company's priorities.

The Company invested a lot of efforts to create a solid material and technical basis and to involve highly qualified experts for success in this sector.

Since 2010, the Alliance Capital K/S experts took part in 6 projects for construction of international roads and also in the state project for construction of the runway and apron of the Tashkent-Eastern Airport.

 

We have built:

- Over 120 km of roads with cement concrete pavement with a width of 9.25 to 11.5 meters.

- over 2.5 million cubic meters of earthwork

- over 2.0 million cubic meters of low-cement concrete of grades M75 and M100 and CTB with a thickness of 16 to 22 cm.

- over 1.0 million cubic meters of concrete with a thickness of 25 to 31 cm

Project description:

The A380 highway is part of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program. The road connects Uzbekistan with Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Construction (reconstruction) was carried out under the Project of Reconstruction of the A-380 Guzar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu highway, section km 440-490 of the Uzbek national highway. Start of works March 2011;                                                                       Completion October 2013.                                                                                                                                                                                             Total length of the reconstructed section is 48.775 km.                                                                                                                                  Technological, architectural and construction solutions for the assignment, facility feature the following data:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                -  road category 1b;                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 - design speed 120 km/h; - number of lanes - 2 in each direction;                                                                                                                                                - the largest longitudinal slope - 28%;                                                                                                                                                                         - width of the carriageway 2*7.5 m; - width of traffic lanes 3.75 m; - width of shoulders 3.75 m; - width of reinforced lane on road shoulders 0.75 m; - width of dividing strip with a single subgrade location - 1 m; - distance between edge of the road bed in opposite directions with the dividing location of the subgrade - 12.5 m or more;                                                                                                                                                                                         - construction of subgrade was adopted of sands;                                                                                                                                                                                        - structure of pavement in a new direction;                                                                                                                                                                                - monolithic cement concrete pavement of class B30 from sulfate-resistant concrete mix GOST 26633-91 thickness 25 cm;                                                                                                                                                                                                      - upper layer of the base of crushed aggregate and sand mixture reinforced with sulfate-resistant cement of grade M75 23735-79, 16 cm thick; - lower base course of crushed aggregate and sand mixture with addition of at least 50% of milled material according to GOST 25607-2009, 20 cm thick; - diaphragm of sand and limestone mixture according to GOST 23735-79, 20 cm thick;                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            - road furnishing - Design provides for installation of road barriers of 1st group, reinforced concrete signal posts, road signs and road marking. The Project was funded by Loan agreement No. 2772.

Agreements No. 272 and No. 2965 were signed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as part of the Investment Program - “Development of Regional Highways. Phase 3 ”- Projects 1 and 2 are aimed at the reconstruction of 58 km of the A373 Tashkent-Osh highway passing through the Kamchik pass and 75 km of the 4P112 Ferghana Ring road in the direction of Pungan-Namangan.

Given the fact that Uzbekistan is a key transit country in Central Asia for trade with the rest of Asia and Europe, the Investment Program aims to reconstruct the Uzbekistan's section of CAREC Corridor 2 connecting Uzbekistan with Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to improve relationships, road safety and promotion of domestic and international trade.

Project description:

 

The reconstructed section with a length of 58 km, section km 116-190 is located in the Akhangaran district of the Tashkent region and the Pap district of the Namangan region of the Republic of Uzbekistan and passes through the Kamchik pass with the highest point of 2268 m. The Kamchik Pass being the road of international importance, is the only land route for vehicles between the Tashkent region and the Ferghana Valley.

The traffic intensity is 18,530 cars/day. The road on the design site has 4 lanes and belongs to the I category. This Project provides for capital repair of pavement with construction of hard type of pavement and widening of the carriageway in each direction from 7.5 m to 10.5 m.

Considering the operating conditions of this road, the following parameters of the road elements were adopted:

  • Width of the subgrade is 26.40 m;
  • Width of the carriageway is 2x10.5 m;
  • Width of the reinforced strip on the dividing lane is 2x1.0 m.

Pavement structure design:

  • Monolithic concrete pavement, h=31 cm;
  • The upper layer of the base of crushed aggregate and sand mixture treated with cemented up to 6%, h = 20 cm;
  • Leveling layer of crushed aggregate, gravel and sand mixture with the addition of 10% crushed stone;
  • Existing asphalt concrete pavement.

In total, the works performed in the Project include:

- works on construction of artificial structures, including 2x2,2x5 gallery pipes, reinforced-concrete pipes with a diameter of 1 m and 1.5 m, metal pipes with a diameter of 2 m with construction of wells, drains and baffles - total 89 pcs, retaining walls 9 pcs;

- construction of the upper layer of the base course - CTB concrete M75;

- constructions of cement concrete pavement;

- construction of reinforced shoulders;

- road furnishing.

Project description:

 

On November 21, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a decision providing for reconstruction of the experimental section km 173-176 of the Tashkent-Osh A-373 highway using the savings under the A-373 Tashkent-Osh Highway Reconstruction Project, section km 116-190 passing through the Kamchik pass with the participation of the Asian Development Bank.

This will enable to complete the reconstruction of the high mountain pass section of the Tashkent-Osh A-373 road providing common technical parameters that meet international standards with widening of the road to six lanes (3 lanes in each direction), with an estimated axial load of 13 tons and throughput of over 40 thousand vehicles per day.

Implementation procedure of the Project  of Construction of modern airport facility for civil (business) aviation on the basis of Tashkent-East airfield was determined by Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PP-3104 dated June 30, 2017

Sources of financing - loans from commercial banks, the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, loans of foreign financial institutions, as well as own funds of NAC Uzbekistan Havo Yollari - for financing the development of feasibility studies;

- construction of apron with a total area of 617 thousand m2, base of GSM 50 cm thick and  reinforced top layer of concrete M100, 22 cm thick and width of

 

 

         Toll road construction project.

The toll road construction project includes the construction of two toll sections of a 6 and 4-lane motorway to bypass the cities of Ahangaran and Angren with a total length of 60 km on the A-373 highway.

Over the entire section of the road it is planned to build bridges and overpasses through intersecting water barriers and roads. Moreover, it is planned to build underpass for livestock and drainage facilities. In order to ensure road safety, it is planned to install protective nets on both sides of the road. At the entrance and exit of the toll section of the road, it is planned to build terminals for passing cars. In addition, a facility will be built consisting of a gas station, a car service center and a catering point.

The A-373 highway is of strategic importance for the Republic of Uzbekistan, as it is the only road connecting the Ferghana Valley with Tashkent and the rest of Uzbekistan. The vehicle traffic in 2019 was over 18,000 cars per day or over 6.5 million cars per year and has a tendency to increase. The estimated value of the project for construction of toll sections to bypass the cities of Ahangaran and Angren is 121.3 million USD.

State participation in the project and forms of state support in the form of preferences, assistance in designing, issuing permits, licenses, land allotment and other assistance measures are provided for by the draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
